In order to have an August newsletter, I had to write this before I left for the mountains. While you are reading this issue of "Yadda, Yadda ...", I am somewhere in the middle of nowhere. I want to thank all of you for trying our Derek's Mountain Cookie, and for helping us raise some needed funds for Youth Alive! Let us know what you thought of the cookie.

Upon my return, we will be starting work on a new menu. It's been two years since our last menu change, and we are excited about introducing some new items. Change is tough - we know many of you have your Stevens & Stevens favorites. Never fear. We will keep most of our tried-and-true favorites while shaking out some items that we may have missed the boat on.

August is also Back-to-School time. We hope that while you're out gathering up all the supplies you need to send the kiddos off to college, you will take some time to bring the family in for a good nosh. After all, there is no Stevens & Stevens in South Bend, Lexington, Nashville, Bloomington - or anywhere else. So parents, do the right thing and make sure your kids get one last healthy fix before they head back to campus and the cafeteria's "mystery meat".

In honor of those pursuing scholastic excellence, all this month, when you show us your Student ID, we'll give you a free cookie. Now that's the way to start the semester off!
