Well it seems that spring has come in like a lamb and that we are having a rare hiatus from our usual "Ohio Valley Winter-to-Summer-in-Two-Weeks" spring.

Soon the kids will be out of school and the transition from Fall to Summer begins. It's a great time of year: I love watching people out gardening and working on the yard, the parks are packed with walkers, runners, and bikers, and the Highlands' streets are full of pedestrians out for a stroll.

It's also a great time of year to stop in and visit the deli. Our menu is just perfect for that on the go lunch, when you can stop in and grab a pound of healthy salad and hit the park, or pack a picnic lunch. We hope you have had a chance to try some of the new menu items, and have found a new favorite or two.

June is also the month of my daughter Summer's birthday. This year, she'll be thirteen — can you believe it?! I guess that means that the Big Cheese is getting a little long in the tooth, but it also reminds me of how fleeting time is. How many more summers will I have with my daughter, hmmm?
