Well, here we are once again! It's time to
start thinking about Derby. This will be my
23rd Derby as a Chef, so I have bucked
the Chef Mortality Rate by still being
alive, and in possession of my mental
health.
Being from Pittsburgh originally, I have
some experience with grand, city-wide
celebrations. My beloved Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates provided me with some great thrills growing up, but nothing prepared me for The Kentucky Derby. Nowhere is there a more unique spectacle, or an event that jump-starts a city like the Run for the Roses.
Unfortunately going to the track is not all its cracked up to be. Forget about ordering food. The lines are long, and the bidding for bottled water starts at three bucks a bottle.
Why not try one of our Derby Boxed Lunches? I guarantee that you will not find anything better at the track -- not even on Millionaires Row, or in a corporate Luxury Box. Lunches for the Oaks and Derby must be placed by Thursday May 3rd. We will have them ready for pick up starting at 9:00 a.m. on Friday (Oaks) and Saturday (Derby).

BOX #1 -- THE BACKSIDE
Our fresh Grilled Chicken Breast marinated in fresh Herbs and Olive Oil, served on our Rosemary Foccacia bread with Baby Greens, Pepper Jack Cheese, and Honey Cup Mustard.
BOX #2 -- DOWN THE STRETCH THEY COME
Roasted Tenderloin of Beef on our Rosemary Foccacia bread with Baby Greens, Red Onion Jam, and Horseradish Spread.
BOX # 3 -- MY OLD KENTUCKY HOME
Our Roasted Turkey with Bacon & Benedictine, on our Honey Wheat bread.
All Box Lunches come with a side of our signature Tomatoes Al Fresco Pasta Salad, a side of fresh Cut Fruit, and one of our Outrageous Brownies. Lunches include utensils, napkins, and condiments and come in clear, security-approved packaging.
Cost: $12 per box. Please order by Tuesday, May 1st. Lunches will be ready for pick up starting at 9:00 AM both Oaks and Derby mornings. Order by April 20th and get $1.00 off each box.
