We took an editorial hiatus from "Yadda, Yadda" in the month of January. Truth be told, December took all of our attention, and the boss was just out of gas.

So as Punxsutawney Phil determines our winter fate, we have been busy getting ready for a lot of exciting new changes here at Stevens & Stevens. The biggest of these changes? On March 1, we are rolling out some new hours. After 18 years, we are going to open on Mondays.

That's right! Beginning March 1, Stevens Deli will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday thru Saturday.

In addition, we have been working on our spring and summer menu and will be adding lots of new items. We can’t wait to find out what the new "favorites" are.

Last Saturday, we were just opening the doors at 10:00 a.m. and a young man walked in and ordered two Jordan's Black Russians to go. I looked out the window and the snow was falling and then I looked at the young man and said: "Where else in the world can you wake up on a cold Saturday morning and have a craving for a Jordan's and get out of bed and make it happen?"

I was reminded again of why I love the restaurant business. What a joy it has been getting to come to work and see people having a great time, having their favorite nosh in your little neighborhood place.
